New in v1.8: Task types, checklists, enhanced filters, faster post creation and much more!
We've been hard at work over these past few months to deliver to you our biggest release of the year — with even more to come just around the corner.
Our number one goal with each improvement we make is to help you spend less time managing your projects giving you more time to focus on what you do best. And, these latest updates are going to do exactly that.
Based on all of your incredible feedback, along with our own experience in the field, we know how important it is to track and manage all of the moving parts within a project. For that reason, we’ve made several major improvements that will help you keep better track of the progress and organization of each project.
Here’s what new:
Categorize each task in your projects with a Task Type. BuildBook now gives you the ability to classify each new task based on its type — Milestone, Task, Selection, Punchlist, Payment, Change Order. This feature makes it much easier to coordinate and manage a large set of tasks throughout the project.
Manage subtasks with Task Checklists. Let’s say you’ve created a Punchlist task for several items that need to be finalized in the kitchen. With BuildBook’s new checklist feature, you can now create a sub-list within your task for each room (or person) that needs to be completed. As each item is finished, it can be checked off the list, meaning you no longer need to create individual tasks for every single thing that needs to be done. Task checklists can be used in a variety of ways, making it simple to visually track how any given task is progressing.
More easily find the task or post your looking for. As part of this latest update, we’ve redesigned the Task List and revamped filtering to make it quick and easy to find what you’re looking for in the shortest amount of time possible. These improvements include a better overall design, ability to show/hide items, view by read/unread status, as well as simple and unique filtering for both posts and tasks.
Create a new post or project in a fraction of the time. Every minute we can save you from managing your projects, is an extra minute you can spend completing your projects — which means more money for your business. To help bring more efficiency to your day, we’ve reduced the number of steps it takes to create a new project or post within BuildBook.
We’ve taken what used to be several steps over multiple pages and minimized it down into fewer steps over a single page — saving you extra moments that matter most to your business!
The updates don’t end there … behind the proverbial walls we’ve made several overall performance improvements to BuildBook, including upgrading your experience when adding and managing your project photos within the app. Along with that, we’ve made dozens of design updates to things like task forms, comment & activity feeds and the settings section.
We couldn’t be more excited to share these upgrades with you before the end of the year, and hope they help you kick off 2020 by delivering more efficiency and ease to your business.
